The community of Unalaska/Dutch Harbor is nestled in the Aleutian Island chain off the coast of Alaska. The population of over 4000 is driven economically by their status as the #1 fishing port in the United States. History books cover the communitys significance in WWII, and the indigenous people, the Qawalangin Tribe (Aleut), still seek to maintain a rich and beloved culture here. Getting to this unique community takes a three hour flight from Anchorage, AK. Bringing in visiting artists and performers has been a tradition here for years, supported by the community, individuals, an active Arts Council, and, soon, our very own Hearts and Hands Project.
